      I love your cartoon and I agree that Obama’s law is very BAD!! I have been to many National Parks, and having a gun would scare me more than the animals.

      I love this cartoon. I wrote an editorial on this same subject. You introduced a totally different perspective though. Although it is obvious that a bear would never walk up to you with a loaded gun and talk to you, you made a good point. I give this cartoon five out of five stars. Good job!

      Shaina, I totally agree with you. This cartoon shows how stupid this law is. Anyone can have a gun, all it takes is one trigger to be pulled, and a life is lost. A gun could easily fall into the wrong hands. Thank you for making this cartoon!! :)

      I agree with all of the comments. We should not have a law to enable guns in parks, but instead we should limit guns. If we encourage guns, more and more people will use guns and that will cause a big problem. Many more lives can be lost if people use guns for the wrong purpose. We need to flip the law and limit the use of guns in America.

      @ Eliza, I agree this cartoon is hilarous
      @ Sarit, I also agree that this law is stupid. The government should not be allowed to pass laws hidden inside other laws.

      @Sarit, Alex, and Micah
      I completely agree with you all! I don’t understand how our President, a man we should trust, is allowing such a stupid and potentially dangerous law to be passed. I do not think that there is any need for a loaded gun in a national park. A national park should be peaceful and nice. You shouldn’t be worried about going to a park- yet, because of this law, you may be.

      @Micah
      Micah, are you saying that we should completely ban guns? How can you “limit” their use without being biased or unfair to certain people that are perfectly capable of handling and owning a firearm? And Micah, if guns are completely banned, it’s only the “good” people that won’t have them. It’s just like with illegal drugs-people can find a way to get them.

      Thank you everybody! I agree with you – this law makes no sense!

      @Mendel I also agree with you. Guns should not be banned everywhere. In some places, it is a good thing to have them on hand, but I am saying that I do not get why people would need to have a gun with them in a national park.

      @ Micah I agree, I think guns should be banned completely except for military use. I think this because people buy guns for protection against criminals who have guns. If criminals didn’t have guns, they couldn’t use them against us and there would be no need to for us to have guns of our own for protection! And the criminals would have less chances to buy guns.

      @Sarita
      Sarita, guns are like drugs. While drugs are illegal, people can still get them. It will be the same thing with guns if they are banned. It will be only the criminals that can get them. In addition, our Bill of Rights in our Constitution says that we all have the right to own guns.

      @ Sarita I disagree, I think guns should be allowed. It’s a personal choice whether or not you want to own a gun. Yes, if there weren’t any guns, criminals wouldn’t have them but then again…if they were illegal more people would probably buy them.

      @Sarita I agree with your idea, however making guns illegal would only make them more popular. Just like drugs, guns can be found on the black market. Guns will always have some popularity. Those that support guns will always find other ways to obtain them. Also, the second amendment allows U.S. citizens to carry weapons. While I am opposed to this, there is not enough support in Congress to amend this amendment.

      Adding to my previous comment, some criminals don’t carry guns. If someone is breaking into your house with a club, would you rather have a club or a gun to defend yourself?

      @Mendel I agree with you; however, let’s say guns were banned from the beginning, since the Constitution perhaps, then no one would be able to have guns and there would be less murders in America. Guns should only be used in the military. If this law was enforced in the Bill of Rights then barely any people would have guns from the beginning, even the criminals wouldn’t!

      I disagree with Sarita, but agree with the law being stupid! We should not need a gun when walking around national parks! The wildlife in national parks is protected and we should not harm them. I’m pretty sure that there are warning signs in national parks, so you are taking your safety upon yourself when you step foot into a park. Please correct me if I am wrong! But Sarita, I disagree with you because Mendel is right. The bad people who have guns now will still have possession of guns, even if they are banned. I do not think that just anyone should be allowed to own a gun, but responsible people should! We need to protect ourselves against the bad people in the world!

      @Sarita
      In the 1700′s and 1800′s, people often made their own guns. If not for our right to bear arms, we would not have had a country because if we didn’t have guns, we would not have been able to fight the British during the American Revolution. The Colonists would often just grab their guns that they had for hunting and go out to fight the British. The British would also often go into people’s homes and steal their belongings and board there without invitation, so the colonists needed self-defense.

      Even a person of good morals can mess up when handling firearms. @Mendel, you are right. People can still buy guns secretly, but the people who follow the law will not secretly buy guns, making it less likely to accidentally hurt, or even kill, a person/ animal!

      @Shira
      What do you mean when people “mess up.” Is someone going to commit suicide with it if they are upset? Are they going to go on a shooting rampage? In Case #1, if someone is upset enough to want to commit suicide, they would still be able to without guns if they are dedicated enough to want to kill themselves. In Case #2, we do need better regulation (not too much) when it comes to buying guns. We need background checks so mentally upset people can not get them.

      @Mendel @William, I agree with both of you that people will buy firearms illegally and it’s probably too late to enforce the law now. I am just saying that if we banned guns many, many years ago then there would be less criminals with firearms. If this country stopped importing guns from different countries years before, then it would be hard for people to have guns. On a plane, they would detect a gun if one tried to sneak it in from another country.

      I love this cartoon because it shows how bad this law could become if bad people take advantage of this law.
      @Mendel and William: I agree with both of you. When some people hear that things are illegal or bad, it triggers their mind to want to do or have whatever is illegal or bad. I do not think we should completely ban guns, but we should not enable people to bring guns into national parks.

      Shaina, you really expressed that this law makes no sense, because bears aren’t going to have guns. There is no point to the law at all, because you are not allowed to hunt, and if no one else has a gun, what would you need to protect yourself from?

      I think that you should be allowed to have a firearm in a national park, as long as you have a firearms permit. This requires a test and a background check, which you would pass as long as you don’t have a criminal record.

      I love the way your expressed your opinion on this law. My question is, what is the significance of having a gun in a national park? Aren’t these parks made to protect animals? If we can bring guns in these protected places, it is a waste of money to develop national parks.

      @douglas I agree that you should be allowed to carry firearms if you have a permit, but why would you need to bring one into a national park? @Jacob I totally agree. @Douglas National parks are supposed to be safe environments for animals and a peaceful place for humans. Bringing in guns could ruin that. If you get mad, you could just pull out a gun and shoot someone. If no one has a gun, then you don’t need one either. There are no dangers that you can’t solve without guns.
