The MJGDS Library is a place where students come to learn and apply 21st century information retrieval and evaluation skills while developing a love for literature and reading. Much effort is made to make the library an inviting place where browsing and exploration is encouraged and supported.
Grades K-5 have weekly scheduled visits where they learn research and information skills, are exposed to author studies, create puppet shows, script and film movies, and more.
Elementary students are also allowed open access, during non-class times, for individual research and book selection. Additonal class visits are strongly encouraged to foster library/classroom collaboration and integration.
Middle school participates in a television production rotation under the wing of Mrs. Leonard. They also enjoy open access time for book selection or specialized one-on-one instruction with the librarian. Class visits are encouraged for both general studies and Judaica classes.
