Copyright | Creative Commons | Public Domain: Why Should I Care?

Smore_Flyer__CC_Copyright_PD_-_Google_Docs

Whenever you use text, images, videos and other content that you did not create, it is important to not violate anyone's copyright. Copyright grants to creators exclusive rights over their creative works, meaning they hold all rights to reproduce, distribute, display, and adapt their work. Generally, unless otherwise indicated, all content (digital and print) is automatically copyright-protected. Exceptions are works that have entered the public domain due to the expiration of copyright and works holding a Creative Commons license. Creative Commons licenses offer creators some tools to allow others to legally use and share their creative works.
