Students in grades 3 and 4 have the opportunity to participate in our Library Leaders program. Once every week, Library Leaders spent about 10 minutes after school in the library to help shelve books, sharpen pencils, clean the whiteboard, stamp new books, affix labels, etc. Aside from becoming experts in alphabetizing down to the second and third letter, this program allows students to become role models, able to assist their peers. Throughout the year, commitment, reliability, cooperation, and responsibility are stressed. Students show pride in and take ownership of their school library. Participating students will be recognized at the school's annual end-of-the-year award ceremony.
To become a Library Leader, students complete an application, including a recommendation from their classroom teacher.
